Silent disco Katong: Peranakan streets, quiet nights
A silent disco in Katong brings dancing to shophouse restaurants, boutique hotels and condo function rooms in one of Singapore's most characterful neighbourhoods. Your guests hear every beat; the residents upstairs hear very little.

Katong and Joo Chiat grew up along a shoreline that once ran close to East Coast Road. Today the area is known for the pastel Peranakan terraces of Koon Seng Road, its laksa and kueh shops, and a lively string of cafés and bars along Joo Chiat Road. Private condos fill the streets in between. Many shophouses have homes above them, so loud music after dinner rarely goes down well. Headphones solve that neatly: the party runs at full volume, but only inside each guest's ears.
Silentsystem has been building and renting silent disco headphones since 2012, and today handles more than 1,200 events a year across 15+ countries. For Katong, your kit leaves our Singapore warehouse one or two days ahead. The light-up SX-809 Super Power Bass looks striking against heritage interiors, with its frame glowing in the colour of each channel. Compare all three models on our headphones page.
Katong venues that suit a silent disco
Heritage terraces, boutique hotels and condo clubhouses: Katong packs a lot of character into a few streets.
Shophouse restaurants and bars on Joo Chiat Road
Long, narrow shophouse spaces fill up quickly and often share walls with homes. With headphones, you can dance between the tables without testing anyone's patience.
Boutique hotels around East Coast Road
Katong's boutique hotels host intimate weddings, birthday dinners and rooftop drinks. A headphone party keeps the function room lively while the guest floors stay calm.
Function rooms in nearby condos
Function rooms and pool decks are popular for 21st birthdays and family milestones. Headphones make it easier to respect the house rules set by your condo management.
Clan halls and community spaces
Clan associations, community clubs and church halls in the area host reunions and festive gatherings. A silent disco lets three generations share the room, each on their own channel.

- A security deposit, returned once the kit is back and checked

Silent disco in Katong: FAQ
Do you deliver to shophouses and condos in Katong?
Yes. The kit arrives one or two days before the event; mention guardhouse registration or loading restrictions when you request a quote.
Is a narrow shophouse big enough for a silent disco?
Yes. Guests need no speakers, only room to move, and the headphones work happily in long, narrow spaces.
Can older relatives join in?
Of course. Each headset has its own volume control, and one channel can play their favourites.
What if we plan a rooftop party and it rains?
Keep a covered corner ready for the transmitter and your guests; the music carries on.
Do you provide a DJ for weddings?
No. You bring your DJ or a playlist; we supply the headphones, transmitters and instructions.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as possible for November to February, when year-end parties, Christmas and Chinese New Year fill the calendar.
