Silent disco public events: the crowd dances, the estate rests
Silent disco public events gather big crowds on waterfront promenades, in parks, malls and town squares without filling the neighbourhood with noise. All the music stays in the headphones.

In Singapore, public space is never far from someone's home. A waterfront promenade sits beside hotels and condos, a mall atrium carries sound up through every level, and a park in Tampines or Punggol is ringed by HDB blocks. Organisers of community celebrations, mall campaigns, cultural nights and estate festivals want energy and participation without complaints. A silent disco gives them both: hundreds of people dancing together, while passers-by and residents hear only the laughter.
The format fits a mall's Christmas or Chinese New Year campaign, a pop-up in a shopping street, an evening along the waterfront, a charity run or sports carnival, or a silent walking tour with a guide speaking on one channel. Up to three channels let you programme music for different ages, add announcements or offer commentary in a second language, which is useful in a city of four official languages. Organisers keep full control of the programme; we supply the headphones, transmitters and, on request, assistance with delivery, set-up and technicians. As every visitor sets their own volume, the experience stays comfortable for children and seniors, and the sound never fights with traffic, shops or a nearby stage. It is a simple way to turn weekend crowds into an event people remember.
Why silent disco suits public events
Any space will do
Promenades, plazas, parks, atriums and void spaces: anywhere people can gather, they can dance.
Considerate to residents
In a dense city, keeping amplified sound down is part of being a responsible organiser.
Open to all
Families, students and seniors pick their own channel and volume and share the same event.
Three programmes
Music, a guided walk, announcements or another language can run on separate channels.
Long range
Up to 500 metres of range for a crowd spread along a waterfront or across a park.
Controlled returns
Distribution and return points, with ID or deposit, keep the kit accounted for.
From plan to public dance floor

Go live
Headphones go out, the channels start, and the crowd dances while the surroundings stay quiet.
How many headphones for a public event?
For public events, size the kit on how many people dance at once, not on total footfall. A mall activation with rotating groups may need 100–200 headphones; a waterfront evening drawing thousands may call for 500–1,000.
- Up to 200 headphones: S$1,200–1,450, indicative.
- Up to 500 headphones: S$2,450–2,900, indicative.
- Up to 1,000 headphones: S$4,150–5,750, indicative.
- Transmitters: TX-500 for wide areas, TX-330 where there is no power.
- Assistance: delivery, set-up and technicians are quoted separately.
Prices are for a single event; see the prices page or request a custom quote.
Tips for public silent disco events
- Sessions: run 30–45 minute slots so more visitors get a turn.
- A clear station: a branded booth or counter with signs that are easy to read from a distance.
- ID or deposit: the simplest way to get every headphone back.
- Weather plan: afternoon storms and the monsoon seasons can arrive quickly; choose a sheltered spot for the transmitters and keep a covered alternative ready.
- Announcement channel: reserve one channel for the emcee, safety notes and the programme.
- Accessibility: individual volume control helps visitors who find loud speakers uncomfortable.
- Approvals: check in good time what the mall management or venue owner requires; the headphones take care of the sound, not the paperwork.

Questions about: public & community events
Can a silent disco cope with thousands of people?
Yes. We keep 5,000 headphones in our Singapore warehouse, and the Silentsystem group fleet of more than 50,000 supplies large events in 15+ countries. Larger numbers are quoted on request.
Will you organise the event for us?
No. We supply headphones, transmitters and, on request, assistance with technicians. The programme, the approvals and the DJs remain with the organiser.
How do we make sure headphones come back?
With visible return points, an ID or deposit at distribution and staff at the exit. We help you plan the flow.
Can a channel carry announcements or another language?
Yes. Each channel is independent: music on one, an emcee or guide on another, a translation on the third.
Do you deliver to every part of Singapore?
Yes. We deliver from our Singapore warehouse island-wide, from Woodlands to Changi and Jurong, Sentosa included, and to offshore islands on request.
