Silent party: how to plan a headphone party in Singapore
A silent party is a celebration where the music plays only in wireless headphones: three channels, glowing LEDs and a packed dance floor that bothers nobody.

A silent party, also known as a silent disco or headphone party, looks curious from the outside: a crowd dancing and singing in near silence. Slip on a pair of headphones and it all makes sense. The music is loud and clear, the bass is deep, and one button moves you between up to three DJs or playlists. The LED on each headphone takes the colour of its channel, so you can see at a glance who is dancing to what.
In a city as compact as Singapore, the format answers a real need. It works for 21st birthdays and weddings, D&D nights and year-end parties, Chinese New Year gatherings, orientation camps and graduation nights, rooftop bars, yacht and bumboat parties, mall events and waterfront festivals. Wherever music has to stay low or stop early, from condo function rooms to hotel ballrooms with a function next door, a silent party keeps the floor moving. This guide covers how it works, how many headphones you need, what it costs and how to make it a success. Want the technical background first? Read what a silent disco is.
Why host a silent party
Loud in, quiet out
Guests hear full volume in their headphones while the neighbours hear almost nothing.
Up to three channels
Three DJs or playlists at once, so everyone finds their sound without a debate.
Volume in your hands
Each guest sets their own level, so the party is comfortable at any age.
More sociable, not less
Lower the headphones to talk normally, then slip straight back into the music.
A floor full of light
Colour-changing headphones turn any dance floor into a moving display.
Indoors, outdoors, on the water
Rooftops, beaches and yachts work as well as ballrooms, thanks to a battery-powered transmitter.
How a silent party works, step by step
Music in
A DJ, laptop or phone connects to the transmitter, one per channel, through XLR or RCA.
Signal out
The transmitter sends the music by radio to every headphone in range, up to 500 metres, with no delay.
Guests choose
Each guest picks a channel and sets the volume, and the LED switches to that channel's colour.
Silent party: how many headphones and what it costs

- Up to 50 headphones: S$360–580 (home party, yacht party, small wedding)
- Up to 100 headphones: S$650–1,000 (wedding, year-end party)
- Up to 200 headphones: S$1,200–1,450 (D&D, bar, large party)
- Up to 500 headphones: S$2,450–2,900 (orientation camp, festival, mall event)

Ten tips for a memorable silent party
- Give each channel a theme: Mandopop and xinyao, K-pop and chart hits, house; or one channel per DJ.
- Explain the colours: a board by the dance floor shows what each colour plays.
- Start quiet: hand out headphones with the volume down and let guests turn it up.
- Organise the handout: one or two people at a table keep distribution quick.
- Lower the lights: the LEDs look their best in a darker room.
- Set up a battle: two DJs, two colours, and the crowd votes with its feet.
- Plan a singalong: a whole room shouting the same chorus with no music audible is unforgettable.
- On a yacht or bumboat: the TX-330 runs on its own battery; keep the kit away from spray and agree the set-up with the boat operator.
- Think about returns: a basket or box by the exit brings every headphone back.
- Book ahead: November to February, with year-end parties and Chinese New Year, fills up first. Request a quote once you have a date.

Questions about: silent party
Is a silent party different from a silent disco?
Not really: they are two names for the same format. Silent party, silent disco and headphone party all mean music played through wireless headphones instead of speakers.
Do I need Wi-Fi, mobile data or an app?
No. The headphones receive a radio signal from the transmitter. No internet, no app and no pairing required.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 10 hours on a full charge, more than enough for a whole party. A full charge takes about 4 hours, and the kit arrives charged.
Are the headphones hygienic?
Yes. Every headphone is cleaned and sanitised before each rental and checked for quality.
How do I make a booking?
Complete the custom quote form with the date, the place and the number of guests. You receive a quote and a call from a consultant within 24 hours. More answers on the FAQ page.
